As a world-class cross-sea mega project, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge spans 55 kilometers in total, integrating bridges, artificial islands, and an undersea immersed tunnel. It is designed with a service life of 120 years and serves as a key transportation hub for the interconnection of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, according to People’s Daily. The project is located in the Lingdingyang sea area, directly facing a high-salinity marine environment, and is subject to typhoons and alternating tides throughout the year. The combined effects of salt spray corrosion, temperature variations, and marine wind vibrations impose requirements on the corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, and long-term stability of various supporting pipes that are far more stringent than those for inland projects.

The bridge system is complex, with substantial differences in working conditions among bridge deck pipelines, undersea tunnel pipe galleries, and the eastern and western artificial island supporting zones. Different locations—outdoor coastal areas, enclosed pipe galleries, and underground island areas—have differentiated requirements in terms of protection and deformation resistance of the products. Baolai, taking into account the unique environmental characteristics of marine cross-sea engineering, provides project-specific pipe system solutions to support the construction of the entire bridge pipe network. Regarding the marine salt spray corrosive environment, we focus on controlling the stability of base materials and surface protection processes during production, and strengthen fatigue resistance performance management.
